A corpse falls out of a black van during a routine traffic accident. The investigation is entrusted to the unpredictable Captain Margaux Chapsal. A loner with her finger on the pulse, her investigation quickly takes on dizzying proportions, leading her to a mass grave containing seventeen bodies. Assisted by a gifted hacker, Margaux plunges into the darkest depths of the human soul, in pursuit of a serial killer on a crusade against the worst sexual predators, those who defile the purest things on earth: children.
At the end of an investigation that will shake her convictions, Margaux will be confronted with the demons of her past, and will not emerge unscathed.
